The problem with being creative (or so I think) is that there are so many "crafts" that I want to succeed in. I find that I sometimes follow the seasons with knitting mainly fall/winter. I find the desire to spin in the Spring and early summer and then quilting creeps in from time to time.
Right now I'm trying to fight the spinning call so that I can finish a few knit items for baby showers, birthdays, etc.
However, I feel that tussah silk roving sitting in that basket calling me over and over again. I may have to answer.

Let the holiday giftmaking begin
So I'm stumped this year. Normally I have way too many ideas, and not enough time. This year I'm a little ahead of the game and nothing comes to mind. Help!

Hanging head in shame
I can't believe it has been THAT long since I have posted. Shame on me. But hopefully son-in-law will present me with a refurbished computer that I can put back in the office and I'll have more time to post and more to say.
Was a busy summer. Lots of knitting for future great-niece. Two sweaters, socks, diaper covers. Smocked a dress. Had to stop in between and give hand a rest - getting old stinks.
But now that's out of the way and I can think about Christmas presents and winter items. I've been neglecting my spinning wheels way too long. I spent some time this past weekend washing up some small fleece that I've had hiding in the garage. One was a beautiful Cormo blend that I have in mind for pretty fingerless mitts - will come in handy for riding in the colder weather. Another was a light gray Shetland cross that I'm thinking socks.
If anyone has any suggestions - please please - let me know :)

5/21/11
I've been informed that on Saturday, May 21, 2011 that the beginning of end of the world is going to happen and all the "chosen ones" will go to heaven and the rest will stay on earth and be tormented. Hmmmm, like that's not happening now? And truly, if you think about it, every day is the beginning of the end. Yep - that's my engineer brain in gear.
I'm still stuck - with no end in sight. I'm thinking I should do something exciting for my 50th year. But nothing has popped up. I'm restless.
And do you ever wonder if anyone truly knows you? I mean truly? Or do they think that they want to know what you want because it's what they want and they want you to want it? Just asking?
Still restless.

Where has the time gone
I don't know where the month has gone. I've hardly finished anything. Haven't started anything new either - so I'm still sticking with the trying to finish things up trend. But wow - the month flew by. And I'm stuck. I know that writers get writer's block - do crafters get crafter's block?
I wonder if it has someting to do with the weather this year. Normally Spring hits me and I get that nesting feeling and want to spruce everthing up - new pillows, new placemats, maybe new curtains. This year it has just stayed cold. Cold and rainy. And I just can't get in the Spring mood. Anyone else feel that way? Hopefully I'm not alone.
I think I'll just have a cup of tea. If all else fails - tea helps!

Yes - I've been in hiding - Or I'm a slacker - Whatever
I usually don't get winter blues. Matter-of-fact, I generally like the winter. I usually like cold weather. It gives me lots of excuses to do the things I love the most - quilt, knit, bake, cook - you get the idea - but for some reason this year - winter got the best of me and I became a blob. I don't know whether it was because I spent January and most of February dealing with a terrible case of Shingles (note to everyone - get the vaccine if you can! Trust me!) or if I'm just getting older and not dealing with the cold as well.
I didn't knit as much, I didn't quilt at all, and I barely went near my poor neglected sewing machine/area.
But recently I've been restless. Call it Spring fever maybe, or just the fact that I'm tired of dark colors and heavy knits - but I've been hearing those little voices from my material stash saying "ohhhhh, I would look lovely as a skirt" and the patterns in the cabinet all saying "pick me, pick me." So maybe this weekend I'll get past the cold and start something with a little bit of color.
Might get me out of these winter blahs I've been having. Any suggestions?

So Far - So Good
The Wrap sweater is done! All the ends woven in and all I have to do is block it. As soon as I get that done - I will post a picture. I have to admit - I'm really happy with it. And, in between working on that I finished the handspun brown/white generic hat. It's not going to win any prizes for looks - but I like it. It's warm. And with the weather this winter - that's a plus!
So two things actually finished in the year 2011! Hopefully this is a sign of things to come! Now on to MIL's purple socks. Yes, purple - and those who know me - know exactly how I feel about the color purple. But she's a wonderful person and I know she would truly love them.
Keep warm!
